Marvin B. Nodel is a graduate of Brooklyn College of the City University of New York in 1966, where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature. He obtained his Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Miami School of Law in 1969. He is admitted to the Bar of the State of Florida as well as the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of Florida, the U.S. 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. Court of Claims, the U.S. Supreme Court, and all Florida state courts.
Following law school, Marv was commissioned as a Captain in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General Corps. He served one year in Thailand, for which he received the Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was then stationed in Germany for three (3) years, and had occasion to travel all over Europe. At the end of his tour he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal.
Upon returning to the United States, Marv worked as a civilian attorney with the U.S. Army Claim Service at Ft. Meade, Maryland, primarily defending medical malpractice claims under the Federal Tort Claims Act. In that position, he worked closely with a team of doctors at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology at Walter Reed Medical Center.
Marv has resided in Florida for the past 30 years, and tried over 150 civil cases to verdict, involving personal injury resulting from motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, construction, negligent security, medical malpractice, and other matters involving breach of contract.
Marv has served as member of the Florida Bar Grievance Committee, and Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee, and is a Certified Circuit Civil Mediator.
